The world's best lassi

by The India Tube

Ah, the wonders of Jodhpur: the blue city, the beautiful fort, the charm of Rajasthan. And what is probably the best lassi in the world.

In the main market, just under the clock tower, Shri Mishrilal Hotel serves the sweetest, richest and most indulgent lassi you can possibly dream of. For twenty rupees you get a glass of heavenly lassi topped with a generous spoonful of malai (clotted cream). It's sinful and irresistible, especially when accompanied by a Jodhpur cookie with the city stamp on it, and it has the merit to keep you up and relatively fresh regardless of how many degrees above fourty the temperature is.

Once you are done with the lassi you can take the first alley on your left and explore the fabric market: there, you'll find the brightest cotton stoles around and all other sorts of beautiful Rajasthani textiles.

"When in Rajasthan, beware of 'special' lassi, if it's offered. It has a healthy dose of bhang as a special surprise!"
