I fell in love with Don Giovanni

There are three types of Italian restaurants: bad ones, good ones, and "just right" ones. Bad (or very bad) Italian restaurants are too common to waste any time talking about them. Good Italian restaurants are hard to find but they do exist, although most of the times they are too expensive, too booked, or too sophisticated when you are just craving simple spaghetti. That is why, at times, or maybe most of the times, what you really need is an Italian restaurant that is "just right".
"Just right" means no sophisticated mains nor high-class appetizers, but just the real deal, "just right" is the kind of cuisine that an experienced Italian grandma would make for a Sunday lunch. Food that tastes exactly as it should, no alarms and no surprises.
Well, Don Giovanni (Mumbai) is your best bet of this kind of food. In fact, I believe that the name of the restaurant is due to the numbers of Italian women in Mumbai that fell in love with the chef. I know I am totally in love with the guy, and his cuisine. Because everything tastes just like my mom would make it home (my mom, because my own grandma is out of reach, even for Don Giovanni).
I have a thing for Pasta alla Chitarra with pesto. I could easily have it every day without getting tired. It tastes as if someone poured basil-tasting joy into your mouth., and a lot of it. Portions are very generous, but much before you are able to say "this is too much" you'll find yourself dipping bread in the sauce left into the empty dish. Which is not polite, I know, but no one will blame you?
Please note: We have reviewed Don Giovanni before it moved back to Juhu. Though we are pretty sure the food is still incredible there, we still have to try out the Juhu's restaurant, which we are very much looking forward to.
