Freshly roasted coffee in Pondicherry

by David Jairaj

Set in a 15-square-meter garage in Edayanchavady, a few meters from Auroville Visitor's Center in Pondicherry. Dreamers Café is small place that knows its grounds well.

It was started in 2008 by Marc Tormo, a coffee cognoscente from Spain settled in Auroville since 1997. Dreamers Café is a roasting center and cafe where you can taste many pure and blended flavors of Indian, Turkish and Italian coffees. In fact, you can see your coffee being made from the bean to the cup right in front of your eyes!

The Café stores, roasts, blends, grinds, packs and dispatches the brand of Marc's Coffee to various parts of India. It serves chocolate chip cookies to go with your drink. As Marc says "The best time to have coffee is after lunch, with some chocolate."

So, if you find yourself in Auroville or Pondicherry, you know where to head post lunch. If you are lucky, you might get to chat up with Marc about his passion while you enjoy his brew.
