Next week, from February 7th to 10th, don't miss the fourth edition of "Persistence Resistance," a documentary film festival held at India International Centre.
The festival's program is packed: over 80 films screened, three retrospectives, five special packages of international documentaries, two seminars and one workshop. After having a look at a few trailers, we made a long list of films we'd love to catch, including "You don't belong," "The city beautiful," "Cowboys in India," plus the South Korean and Italian packages.
As the festival's tag-line "Edge of visual narratives" suggests, the event aims to explore the different natures of films and of their reception from the audience. The festival is conceived not only as a screening of documentaries, but as an occasion to mimic the way people watch films.
That is why there are eight video parlours where those who arrive late, or want to leave early, can watch the films in a more relaxed environment. Also, a few short films are going to be played continuously on screens spread around the Indian International Center, because sometimes we watch films like that: as a background, to take a quick break while doing something else. And finally, all the material screened at the festival will be accessible in a library, and searchable by keyword.
